Huge admiration for this model human being. I never tire of listening to him even though I am not Jewish. He warned of the dire events we are witnessing today. I fail to understand why so many in the ‘enlightened’ west fail to criticise those who question, vilify and attack Jewish people. Then again, Rabbi Sacks talked about precisely this in one of his lectures in which, yet again, he identified the kernel of the problem and offered the only solution. Reconciliation.

What needs to happen to get an investigation started? I call the cops and the most I get is an incident number. They literally tell me there is nothing they can do. They told me that if I co.ment online that I must expect people to say things to me. I feel like it's legal to threaten and harm me. I've asked for the IP addresses from my web hosting service as well as from the platforms where I have been harassed. They have all told me they don't have that information. I know it's a lie.

All of the wisdom of this world is but a tiny raft upon which we must set sail when we leave this earth. If only there was a firmer foundation upon which to sail, perhaps some divine word. -Socrates The true Light who gives light to every man was coming into the world. He was in the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God- children born not of blood, nor of the desire or will of man, but born of God. The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. The Light has come into the world, but men loved the darkness rather than the Light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come into the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. The One who comes from above is above all. The one who is from the earth belongs to the earth and speaks as one from the earth. The One who comes from heaven is above all. He testifies to what He has seen and heard, yet no one accepts His testimony. Whoever accepts His testimony has certified that God is truthful. The Father loves the Son and has placed all things in His hands. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life. Whoever rejects the Son will not see life. Instead, the wrath of God remains on him.

There is no climate crisis. There are no 'tipping points'. CO2 is good for plants and warming is good for animals. The world is getting healthier and wealthier all the time. We are not running out of resources. Extreme weather has happened before and it is not increasing. Sea level rise is slow and not a threat. Infant mortality has decreased by 90% over the last century. Poverty and malnutrition are at record lows.

In my opinion he was setting up the boundaries for the extent to which Rabbi Sacks must maintain His lecture.

Something that stuck out from his presentation was the following quote, “those who choose the beginnings of a road also choose its destination” -Anonymous. I thought to myself, is this predeterministic idea in full agreement? I wouldn’t jump to the conclusion that because we edit one’s genes, we can then directly trace out the actions or position that individual will be in, let’s say 20 years down the line. With regard to editing genes that promote behaviors (as opposed to eradicate disease) I believe perhaps that we can increase one’s likelihood, or predisposition to act a certain way, yet with that said, one’s outcome is the result of their choices and one’s free will, which I won’t necessarily pigeonhole to the capacity of genetic expression. I just felt I needed to mention that this quote shouldn't be taken for granted, I could've misinterpreted though. Regardless, this was an excellent presentation, and I believe that this subject needs more attention to do justice for its potentiality. Very insightful!
